The World of Dreams

Something else that I wrote awhile back. Based off of something that I went through with someone. I had something similar happen recently that reminded me of this as well.

 

The World of Dreams

 

We all live in a world of dreams
One where love fixes everything.
And one where we are still together.

You remember our past
The nights that we had together,
The feelings that we had
Or that we did.

You come to me tonight
To ask me to remember those things too.
But I can't.
You just don't seem to get
That I don't love you anymore.
Maybe I never did.

Maybe all I wanted was the sex.
It wasn't that good, that couldn't be it.

Even as I say "No, I've moved on"
You are still standing there
Praying that I will change my mind.
But it won't happen.

You're still dreaming.

Wake up,
This dream is pointless.
Because we were never together
In the first place

Wonderful write! A lot of people can associate with this which is good. Raw!
