Bipolar will sometimes have the world appear dead and pointless, the struggle to find an enlivened world can be long and arduous when neurochemistry is spilling its pitch into the well..
I was saved this morning
By finding a world still breathing in soft lamp-light
The sounds of large rain drops hitting roof, leaves and metal
A dog howling in the wet distance and mine sleeping next to me" dreaming
I really like this, like how you expand the world being described with each line, going from the lamplight and implied bed, to the roof with the sound of rain then out into the distance with the sound of a dog. Then you bring us all the way back to the bed where your dog sleeps next to you. About your bipolar: while I can never really know what it’s like to be bipolar, I do suffer from depression that cycles from moderate to severe and multiple times have been hospitalized under suicide watch. So I do know some of the suffering of mental illness. I wish you the best life possible under your condition.

Thank you for reading and reviewing Michael. Ps. I definitely try to the best of my ability. I hope you're doing well and continue to do so.
I wish you many more special moments where you find the world breathing in soft lamp light. This poem was so much of the moment and I was taken in by the sounds as well as the movement and the final feeling of comfort. A little bit of brevity, but so much more here. Lovely.

I'm an early middle aged neophyte in many things.. always loved reading and writing for fun (the latter being of fluctuating consistency).
Basically I'm wanting to write more, whether it be vignett.. more..
