Kin

Kin

A Poem by William Kremer
"

Bit fiddly at the moment but I'll edit soon enough.

"
The carriage reeks of lowered brows and silent penances,
Sun choking spatters of light through the darkened grey smudging by, to not-one sympathetic eye.
A couple with voices hoarse from a venomous three day dispute swear about nothing at each other, punctuated by spells of tormented sleep, and with the rupturing blood-red eyes it all starts again.
A sickly pallid man swallowed by a tweed suit and road-worn Mockisons reads Hanh's "The Miracle Of Mindfulness" in between anxious half-glances at the unpredictable couple-
Who, show their love the only way they know how.
Conflict"all in a commute.

Leaving the carriage, and
-Even trees' derelict leaves stammer in herds
Hesitant to commit to neither here nor there.
The neons and grey-blue of this moment has undeservedly sunk in- Only invites the forgotten but not without marking-
Marking all as nothing-but shadow, and in their after-
Not even enough care to speculate who, what or where
One is and where to, a night meeting day left everyone as no one. Whether struggling against the dehumanization or struggling into it, you'll meet your forgotten kin on crepuscular commutes, on your way to becoming no one.

Such a visual in so few words. We become how we see ourselves to other people. Perhaps.

That's sort of a more granular lensing of the Pygmalion effect I think? I appreciate you reading and.. read more

I'm an early middle aged neophyte in many things.. always loved reading and writing for fun (the latter being of fluctuating consistency). Basically I'm wanting to write more, whether it be vignett.. more..
