You wouldn't credit a writer or artist's abilities and knowledge to their means of pigmenting a surface, a musicians skill to their instruments etc etc
A mason holds a seminar on their architectural history
Tracing vein to vein that morphing into strata
Face the stone-dresser's monumental effigies.
Flowing through the porous fossils of each stone's birthplace
Each listener now swelled by the spoken-inrush settled before them
Finds within the alluvial, large orebodies of unspeakable value.
One listener when questions are called asks;
What kind of chisel do you use?
Is it a case of 'where there's a will, there's a way?' Look forward to reading your completed intention, sir.

Whichever comes to hand first, perhaps?

From my initial perspective it was a reflection on the kind of handball comment made on a photographer's pictures about their camera being great as opposed to the photographer's growth up to that point. A thing like the concept of talent I find is a very similar point where someone can say they couldn't possibly do X because they don't have Y at hand...
Apologies for the mini rant, I appreciate you taking the time to read and review it's much appreciated.

I think there's an innate desire within people to carve themselves into their work in some way. It takes experience and errors to find the correct application and a soul that enjoys the internal rewards when the job is done. You made me think when reading this. And that's a good thing.

I appreciate you taking the time to read and for leaving a review Lighthouse.
I don't really know what tool sculpters my work...it is like some invisible one that I am not even aware of.
But it is something.
I am grateful for my chisel. Great metaphor here.

I find myself clutching for the at-hand more often than not, and it always seems to come in the form of different tools, different means to reduce, add, divide and all the various ways to achieve an end or start of something..
Thanks for reading and reviewing Jacob, I appreciate it very much.
Ps. Sorry for the late response (things have been pretty full on recently).

I'm an early middle aged neophyte in many things.. always loved reading and writing for fun (the latter being of fluctuating consistency).
Basically I'm wanting to write more, whether it be vignett.. more..
