Blowpop Me

Blowpop Me

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

Candy free

I don't think so

Blowpop me

Popsicles

and

cigarettes

you bet

these pet masters

that we've kept

as secrets

to our love dance.

Ice and vanilla

cinnamon and sweets

aromatherapies-

for both our souls

that crave the touch

of the other.

Together or apart

you haunt me

I can not pass

too few words

without yours uttering

past my veins-

do not be alarmed

however,

gentleman

my blood remains

within me

except when the moon

messes with my chi-

otherwise I am whole

and you rule my universe.

Merci beacoup

for the adoption-

I walked alone

when you picked me up

and returned me to

my rightful owner-

who is that now-

You, my lover,

You, my stranger

to the metaphysical...

show me the way

home alone

or together-

the path is Light.

Perhaps it is

the color Black-

man, do you look

good in that,

Perhaps it is

the color White-

as fresh and real

and unique

as each snowflake.

In any case,

my nesting instinct

continues on

to build a home

for yours and mine.

Cheeky pinball careening charm!

You manage to encompass the childlike, the sexily provocative, the Kosmic, the adult yearning with a whiz-bang-pop and ease as natural as falling down stairs.

You have a great range of vision, Sid, and the sheer physicality of that range always makes me smile. ;-)

daunting me
her words haunting me
when at once
I approached this
young woman
in the woods
her beauty flaunting me
and I
no magician
find myself transformed
as if by
love within her
poems

mmmmm, Robin

I like this the best of the ones I've read this time round. I've been following titles and this was the most enigmatic of the one's I've looked at. I think there is a coquettish confidence particularly towards the end. OK he picked you up but you are in charge. And there is a strking contrast between the red blood of a woman and the airy pinkness you convey in the title and with that picture.

Siddartha --

I love the title/recurring theme.

This work takes a turn after the opening stanza and it has some intriguing moments. I feel like there's a hidden story here that I'm trying to decipher.

Your metaphysical bent is alluring. I'm hoping that you explore it a bit more, though, instead of simply referencing it. Perhaps you have other works that do that.
