Silent SuicideA Poem by Siddartha Beth PierceThe smoke fills my lungs with sweet tar and nicotine the damage so far unseen- A terrible addiction, yes I have been put to the test to place these down no longer allow them to control me so although I delight in the slow burn of the smoke that whirls about my head in the exhale that fills so many with dread- a crop that built our country still has now become an addiction beyond my will- When I take in its strength it fills me with feelings of satisfaction, although in reality the addict's ride may be a silent suicide.
