MisledA Poem by Siddartha Beth PierceWhy did you go astray left me here in this wake to place her in the grave all alone forsaken by you at the moments peak when I needed someone near to hear me eulogize that dear grandmother of mine who sat by my side always yet you came not to the graveside where we dropped her ashes into the damp ground a hidden trinket I buried with her within her remnants yet you will never know what it is I hid inside the hole they dug within those Memorial Gardens.
What kind of husband is this that will leave your side when death does kiss those around you that mean the most now she is the ghost that haunts me and still to this day whispers 'Go, baby girl, Go far away from that one that traveled nowehere but inside his cold, dark mind and failed to honor me Divine.'
So, yes, I left with packed bags because I knew he failed to show her honor or love me so in my hours of need those vows we had taken were only a mislead.
