Longing for Your Embrace

Longing for Your Embrace

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

In the morning breeze

I find myself

longing for your return

so I take up the quill

place my will

upon the pages

of journals and sketchbooks.

Remembering your kind face

the way you smiled

at me

beguiled

taunting me ever so sweetly.

I place the pastels

upon the pages

in effervescent hues

of you

so neatly.

These will have to do

the notes I scrawl

the likenesses I draw

as you are unlikely

to return

soon enough

to pleasure me

with your charms and graces

once more.

It seems I can not wait

but must toil here

over your being

while you are afar

longing for your embrace.

How well I can relate to this one. They say nothing makes the heart grow fonder than absence but it sure never made it any easier. Excellent writing.

u must learn to keep your writes simplistic,
yet complex ,for we live in a world of mass communication,
what good is a beautiful poem that can't be translated without wester,
yet it still is a good write worth of world wide read.peace wizthom

Oh, I feel the sadness yet gladness with which you wrote....the longing is penetrable into my very being. Wow. What a powerful write....

Awww, I wanted one more stanza of this longing, warm love. The toiling is great irony since she toils expressing her loneliness in colors, sketches and words no less. The last stanza mixes grammatical references within it so one may wonder who longs for who. Nice work, more more more.
