FrostbiteA Poem by Siddartha Beth PierceWe awake on tender day late in May to find the frost has bitten the crops lies still upon the ground deep Mother Nature's will taking vengence upon the vegetation round the farm- apple trees droop under its weight shriveled fruit that never can again grow to ripen in the sunshine bright upon the stages of the orchard once green but now a barren sepia toned scene speaks in volumes against those that believe in this harsh greenhouse effect in that now that the frost has once again come to lay around the land so late this Spring season stunting the growth in the end a bane to the farmer's hand- yet later in the day the sun will rise unfreeze the soil, perhaps allowing the fruit to finally bear a chance once more to live, prosper, growing fresh leaves trying once again to conquer against mighty nighttime's bite that settled across our land in the pale moonlight unexpectedly.
