Bed Heads

Bed Heads

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

Morning lips

upon my own

with the words

'How did you sleep my love?'

The reply,

'I have no idea

like shattered lightbulbs

not a memory of one

thing or another,

You?'

'Oh,' I say, 'write that down.'

Yawns are yummy in the AM.

Then he arose

to cream the latte.

What luck

a moment to stretch

lounge

and ponder

how did I possibly earn

the splendor of

True Love.

A partner in slumber

with energy enough

to care.

A night with or without dreams

makes no difference

when I am in the arms

of this Man

kind enough to wonder

what mental calistentics

occured in my own

break time

apart from him

each night.

I will ravage him

coddle him

thank God for him

caress him

wake with him

once more.

What a warm and happy celebration of a man who shows consideration and delights to serve the one he loves...'with energy to care'... Actually, I rather like the strength of 'ravage' over the sensuality of 'ravish'... and imagine that being coddled and ravaged by you must be quite an experience... :-)

Any man who has a woman say this about him says much about them both.

I love the light conversation in this, the fade from sleep to a reality of content in each other…Wow, just a great feel to this whole piece!

Great Write!
