Ode to a Cat

Whiskered feline

here at my feet

what is it that

you want from me

a treat, it seems

of some kind

a pat, a pet

to make you feel fine-

in return

I hear your purr

a miraculous occurence

to be sure-

what other animal

is so serene

in its being

to let you know

that what you do

suits them so-

whiskered feline

here at my feet

you sure are sweet.

Wonderful job! I never used to like cats, but a friend of mine has two, and I'm steadily liking them more and more. They're so adorable! :D I could see everything exactly as you wrote it, and the piece gave me those joyous feelings that usually only come with kittens or puppies. Great write! :D
