In Reality

You made me smile,

And you held my hand,

Whispering to me

Your hopes and desires.

 

You called my name,

And made me feel special;

Loved.

 

But this happened in my dreams;

Not reality.

 

In the real world,

We’ve never said more than

Two words to each other.

 

A nod, a smile,

And nothing more.

 

But I don’t even care;

You mean nothing to me in reality.

Just another person,

Just another name

In the shadows of my memory.

Life and dreams can flow so beautifully together.. this one shows that you almost possibly got caught in the image of a dream of another? Maybe some things that you admired about them .. which is usually temporary when it's a visual image with just everyday gestures. Great that you realize that it was just a fantasy.. as love or sometimes even great friendship is not always in order with our fantasies and hopes. I found this very down to earth.. humbling and well sooo many people we will cross that will only be just a face in memory that slowly fades.. special ones will make it a little deeper! Bravo!
