Alone and SurroundedA Poem by Madeline
Chairs and tables claimed,
Whispers spread round the room, They don't know she can hear them, She's alone just like the moon. Surrounded by her star-eyes piers, Painful rumors fly, Amused glances over shoulders, While she just walks right by. Desperate for attention, Laughing with the guys, They're calling dibs on every boy, She's longing for the sky. One day, she whispers, one day they'll see, I'm not the quiet injured girl they put me out to be. One day I will fly, Looking down at them all, Maybe then they'll regret, Always laughing when I fall.
