My SolaceA Poem by ElinaThe power of writing... What, for some, is optional, is life and breath to me. It has been some time since I last wrote a poem. I was pondering life, and considering the places people find comfort.
The delicate fragility of pages
Well-worn from bearing Every burden imaginable. How I caress these precious pieces; My lifeline in times of turmoil. The solidity of a pen Gives me a foundation, Though my heart wavers. I hold on, as if letting go Would spell my doom. Someone listen to me! Can no one hear The bitter weeping of my heart? Save me from myself. I am afraid. My world is crumbling; Once again I flounder For I was too preoccupied. Yet here I sit, with pen and paper, Safe in my place of solace.
