Nightmares.. Nightmares..

Haunted mind's stage..

Nightmares don't scare me,
They may twist and turn
and so would I;
into a form it pleads but
enrages to see me breathe.
Let it throw me into an abyss
I fall; wings opened to break
the fall and wheeze lying
in heap of flesh and bone.
It may break my body
and mutilate; spirit retaliates.
I laugh back irking it
to chase me more; begin
the torture once more.
Nightmares don't scare me,
Life does.

Excellent execution on this one. There was a sense of sinister dare in these lines. I love the way the narrator laughs at the horror. The last line gave it even more power, with the message that dreams are just dreams, but life is still moving. Thank you for sharing. Well penned.

Well I know what nightmares do to me.. This has a good message as how out deepest nightmares are less harmful than the staling reality..
