My Father

It's my father's birthday. Thought I'd write a poem for him!

I love my father

An honest man, a good friend

A helping hand

 

Familiar, caring

Nothing keeps us apart now

Sharing words, happy

 

Birds of a feather

We grow older together

Can’t live forever

Time stops for no one

The passage is long, I'm strong

I hope he stays too

 

While I’ve written

His hair greys, his skin wrinkles

But he remains here

 

Still, love my father

From the bottom of my heart

After all these years
