Written for the book I'm in the process of writing

Loved by an angel, kissed by a crow

Darkened by blood lying cold in the snow

 

Redemption yearning, coming to aid

Salvation coming, planning to stay

 

Beauty comes on the wing of the One

Guidance falling from the lips of the Dove

 

Knowing forever, forever more

The shadows standing behind the door

Holy crap! That was absolutely beautiful! It had an amazing cadence and rhythm to it that made it flow PERFECTLY. If I had read it out loud there wouldn't have been a pause and it would have enhanced the piece. I also love the half rhymes you carry out throughout the piece (although I'd love to see them be full rhymes like in the first stanza) There's a feeling of hope and happiness radiating throughout the piece. I have to say, it made me smile when I read it. It's written perfectly and is a beautiful piece. I particularly enjoyed the first stanza. Such imagery and flow! The end rhyme perfectly enhanced the piece. You should enter this in a contest, it was fabulous!

Wonderful! I love the meter and rhyme scheme you use, as well as the themes of abandonment and redemption. (That's what I picked up anyway... I hope that's what you intended.) My only criticism is that I wanted it to last longer...

It was so beautiful, in fact, that I must now go and read the book you mentioned.
