the best poem ever written

i call myself a poet
because i write a lot of words
they don't rhyme but
i just feel like saying stuff

if i break it up into stanzas
then maybe it will look cool
it's like i'm at a hipster club
it's an open mic
keep the lights low
end it with some deep one liners
wow
cool

Love your satire. Not biting vitriol. Nicely clean & direct & uncomplicated. Despite the seeming lack of value you place on the riff-raff at the cafe (reading your banter w/TS), I find it inspiring for me, a rigid writing constructionalist (that just means 30+ years of technical writing warped my playfulness beyond recognition) & I find I need to sniff the occasional spontaneous poetic fart along my reviewing trek becuz it reminds me to be less nailed down about what I write sometimes (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I guess you can only read so much bad poetry before you are nudged to write a poem about it. I've been slogging through the mire of this site looking for diamonds, and I find them occasionally, but there's a lot of crap out there. Having recently written a po em on the same topic I felt the need to comment. (Not a read request). You did well to hold a mirror to our community.
