Finding peace in darkness

I close my eyes and the world is spinning once again,

I open them up and find I am still trapped in darkness, so I close them again.

It feels like I am floating upon a cloud flying through the sky,

the world below is obscured but above me I can see the stars.

The stars come flying past me reminding me of each precious moment I cherish

Even the ones that burn me as they pass by.

I find myself at the edge of the world, and I stand upon its edge

The fog is thick, who knows what may lie next.

I open my eyes and the darkness still remains, heavily, 

But I get up and take a step.
