The Shelved Dreams

Prompt poetry.

Sifting through the late night whispers
Of forgotten thoughts
Their one more breath of existence

The shelved dreams heave a sigh of relief
Proud in their naked essence
Hazy recollections of a reality
That fell short of their jagged perfection
It takes too long to ponder
What is and what was and how it shall be

Fragments frozen in time
Souvenirs of a mind that knew no limits

Eager to throw off 
The labels of expired validity
Content with the possibility
That the very next moment might be their last

And yet, one glimpse can be their salvation.

I like the thoughts in the poem. Easy to wander off to places in the past. Memories become lessons for us to be different. Hard to find real salvation. No weakness in the excellent poetry.

Those two lines are my favorite but I regard the whole poem with awe for it's brilliance. You have such a divine language that ultimately flows like silk.
