Waiting for you to understand

The truth that's hidden behind my face

Pride and lies, you won't find a trace

Getting hold of my thoughts, they always swirl

Unfamiliar familiarity is what it seems

Whoa! I myself don't know what it means

 

Just trying to be a better me.

There's no one as such, you'll see

I'm not perfect, I'm simple and plain

True and faithful, I'll always remain

 

Just trying to be a perfect friend

I think you're trying to understand

The reasons behind those chilsidh acts

I live in fantasies, ignoring the facts

 

Just trying to be a better being

I'll stay and won't think of fleeing

Forget it all, don't try to understand

Hug me or simply hold my hand...

This is a wonderful view point of someone who's doing their best, and doesn't want much. But something would be nice to reflect the effort involved.
