Mind OceanA Poem by SkeltertonI'm fully awake am I not?The circus rats eat what they do not deserve, while weeping train tracks amidst the fog return back to their shells Golden eyes stare underneath the subterranean doctor’s office in the middle of october Before fleeting letters soar above the trenches, initiate a game of tag cloud rascals view with excitement When the beach owls shake off their haunted feathers, creeping flamingos approach dancing inside a hollow pinecone Nesting wheat beneath my freezing skin, why doesn’t samba tell me the ways in which yellow paints a pig For when the acidic taste of circus fright hangs between marriage rings, knocking on the rubber window does not bring fortune Inside the party animal’s iron lung lies a rocking chair longing to be studied Until the giraffes bend their spoons, the coffin ceremony shall not commence after ten in the morning There goes the elusive orbiting mechanic, thinking of days we should travel through the skeleton of time
