Red Boots in the Window

Red Boots in the Window

A Poem by Andromeda
"

NEW

"

The red boots in the window caught her eye for one reason only:

They were the kind one might see

In the old-time

Movies that

Sugared her dreams.

The boots had

The type of heels that

            Theoretically

Poke holes in airplane floors;

And they were a

Swatch of red,

Like

Wearing a white dress and

Eating spaghetti on the carpet

            Rebelliously.

They were suede,

Which reminded her of

Visits to art museums,

Complete with

Over-enthusiastic air-conditioning and

Bored-looking, ever-watching guards.

When she slipped them on her feet,

She knew that they had caught her eye for a

            Sly reason:

Her feet could not come out,

Dared not face the shame of any other shoes.

The red boots in the window

Transformed her

Into a

Modern-day Cinderella,

And she soon set out to find her Prince.

Like the visuals I get from this. And the ending. Hope she finds her purple caped prince. :)

I loved this colorful and animated description all about a pair of shoes, and how they touched her heart with such vivid images. It felt like a song and a poem and just a great all-around writing.

quirky. thats the word that i found when i read this. and it's similar to your other poems in the sense that it bounds with a seemless energy. and a very nice formatting. i have nothing more to say apart from this felt like jazz in my head...which is a good thing!
