Red Boots in the WindowA Poem by AndromedaNEWThe red boots in the window caught her eye for one reason only: They were the kind one might see In the old-time Movies that Sugared her dreams. The boots had The type of heels that Theoretically Poke holes in airplane floors; And they were a Swatch of red, Like Wearing a white dress and Eating spaghetti on the carpet Rebelliously. They were suede, Which reminded her of Visits to art museums, Complete with Over-enthusiastic air-conditioning and Bored-looking, ever-watching guards. When she slipped them on her feet, She knew that they had caught her eye for a Sly reason: Her feet could not come out, Dared not face the shame of any other shoes. The red boots in the window Transformed her Into a Modern-day Cinderella, And she soon set out to find her Prince.
