hmmm...

Ten years ago,

When you swore that

You would never leave,

 

That you’d always be

There to hold my hand

And kiss my lips

To wake me up

To live another day with you,

 

I always wondered

 

How quickly you’d forget.

 

It took longer than I expected,

But you finally did, and now

 

I don’t know whether to

Laugh or cry,

But ten years ago

I stopped wondering why.

I can relate to this poem. Sounds like you've written a piece of my life. You go into the relationship a little cautious. Wondering how long the love will last. Will it ever stop being so perfect? You hope that it never will, but then it's over...and he's gone. The only differnce between my experience and this eloquently written poem, is that I never stopped wondering why....
