PastA Poem by AndromedaAAAAAAAAAAAhPast the crossroads and into the setting sun, Past the days when we dreamed as one, Past the pale-moon smile, And wait there for me a while. Past the ocean that sings upon the sand, Where the party-hat trees sway in mighty rhythmic motion. Past the potion of the white picket fences and the flabbergasted sun, There we’ll meet, hand-in-hand. Past the candy-apple meadows, with their honey-suckle flowers, Past all the proud faces that watch like hundred-floor towers, Where the road bends at the end of sleep, There my face you’ll always keep. Past the waking nights and the sleepy morning tears, Past where life is good as it will be, where the wind whistles softly a midnight melody, Past the edge of town, past where the sun goes down, past all your day and night dreams, Past where everything is as it seems, There I’ll be for all years. © 2008 Andromeda |
