God saw you

A Poem by Sarmelendez

this is for someone i miss very much

God saw you getting tired

and a cure was not to be

so he put his arms around you

and whispered,

"Come to Me"

With tearful eyes we watched you

and saw you pass away

and although we love you dearly

we could not make you stay.

A Golden heart stopped beating

hard working hands at rest.

God broke our hearts to prove to us

He only takes the best

" To be or not to be..." A question we all ask ourselves at some point and then again over and over.

Does God break our hearts? In a sense maybe, I think.

I tend to see God as the ultimate expression of pure love. The world will break us without God holding us together...

Then there is death... We will all die. Period. It is comforting to think God has "called home" a loved one to His side. Still, I think God values life above all things. I believe this is why there is life after death for any who choose it.

I am sorry to be philosophical. I did enjoy the tenderness of this write and it does bring a comforting thought and feeling. Still, to live well, I think we must be careful what we give God credit for "doing" and what is just a result of living in a sinful world. In the end, all will be made whole and perfect, even you and me... :)
