My Baby ask for the Good Stuff

My Baby ask for the Good Stuff

A Poem by SmittyJas

Young Love Relationships

"
Its early on a friday night
We just go started on a new week end
When we just got started for loving
Way back when we had no responsibilities

My name is Jim my gal was Sue
We had plans for love for the long run
She was my romance at a very early age
Some said we couldn't make it but we did

My Baby ask for the good stuff
That first good Kiss
On a second date
Memories like these stay there for years

LIke the first time we hold hands
On a stroll throughout the City
We don't want to be lonely any more
Just a joint near where the kids can grow up

Like it used to be for us
A place for two
Me and you
Some little kids too

My baby ask for the good stuff
I told her from the start
When she gave me her heart
That was the beginning of the Good Stuff

Our First born child
The memories we share
How we got there
For where we started is the Good Stuff

Then many years down the line
When 25 or 50 married years go by
Then we talk about the good old days
What made the Good Stuff Good

I awaken each morning to your sweet voice
Next to me made me the man I always wanted to be
The family grows and the Grand Kids are coming around
With each grand child we are more proud

Of how a family grows from every seed
In the beginning it was only you and me
Then baby made three
She was our beauty you can see

her resemblance of you and me
Your mother was so proud
When we had our second child
Another daughter as beautiful as the first

now we have two grand Children of our own
and were proud knowing the third on is in the oven
Awaiting a grand entrance
with open arms we accept this challenge

God is good Life is good
I remember the first time I said
I love you
and you slammed the door in my face

This made me wonder what I said wrong
I thought I should of got a better response
To my address of love
Made me think she wasn't expecting it just yet

I only waited six days to tell her I love her
and the world was created in that amount of time
So Lets the world spread a little love around
I fell in love for the first time

and that was enough for me
I held on for life
Married the woman I looked in the eyes
and I said I love you for life

Will you be my wife
even those we were to young to understand
The true struggles of love
we went about our business

Like everything was meant to be
You loving me
As I love you
with all my heart

But things didn't work out
For us we didn't plan to go bust
but our children love us so
and they let everybody know

our parents had the good stuff
and though the world of each other
 when they held each other
way back when.

Aww, full of love Smitty.
Will you be my wife?
Those words just melt the heart.

Love is a tricky business, and takes more than we realize going in. This is an honest piece that makes me think with gratitude of my parents and their 50 years together... Nicely done Jim.

Very hopeful write. Yes long lives together are still possible. My parents hit 62 years before I lost them. I hit 32 years before I lost my husband...love with the right person can be for life. Valentine
