Father's Day

Father's Day

A Poem by SmittyJas
"

What Being a father means to me

"
When I turned old and gray
I looked back on those days
When my Girls were just toddlers
Then Grade school students

Then somewhere in their teens
The years gone by so fast
Some times I didn't know what they mean
But I counted each year as it passed

A lucky man a lucky father
To have two beautiful daughters
Who love me for who I am
and the person I could be

The Great Father deep inside of me
There were times In my life
I had my doubt

Times I just wanted to scream and shout
But I held my temper
and smiled back at them
Love them with a gentle hand

Their love from their father
was always in demand
So too this my father's day wish
I still reach out in a loving ways

and say to my dear daughter's
I love you with all my heart and soul
Too me both your hearts
Are as good as Gold.

If only every father stayed and raised his children. So many children today are lucky to have only one parent. Valentine
