Silver Smith

Silver Smith

A Poem by SmittyJas
"

I"m Just a kind miner

"
I'm just a kind miner
Known as a silver smith
digging for silver
in the mine fields and hills
the mountains are my homes
I'm a drifter you see
I don't make enough to settle down
or even raise a family
But you will find me in the deep dark mines
Panning for my silver every day
No one even seems to care or mind
how I spend my time
My wife and kids live far away
Long gone from me they will stay
They chose a life with out me
and thats how it's going to  stay
You may think this is bitter sweet
or a hell of a life to pay
for the silver I mine today
is only a half a mile away
I'll keep digging my grave
In these dark mines
Some day of being rich
You will find me

dead in a mine shaft
In a dark and watery grave
Digging through my pan of silver
Dreaming of riches some day
