Oh dear poet I loved this write, at least I can commend on your fourth stanza. Wow, that was truly amazing insight, so true, I must say, I never ever give it to the rich nasty mf'rs, who are taking it away in real life from me now, I fight all justice, and if you have such honest convictions and true life facts as in this write, dear, you are an mastermind :) smiling :) (p.s. Always fight for those who deserve it, even when it's yourself....)
You are a poet!! I love this, it speaks to me, in my search for who I really am, where I really belong and what my purpose is, this gives words to those thoughts... beautifully done.
Great piece, I especially like how the majority of the poem you are asking questions and then show all the mistakes we are making. My favorite line is "We steal from the poor man, and we give it all to the rich.". Very thought provoking, great work.
What are we? So far, survivors, at least to this day. We are survivors in a world we are left to find our place, and our way there, in.
You greatly portrayed some of the mistakes humans make in their strife for a good life, sometimes we need to stop running blindly, to take some sweet time to take in the world's beauty, rejoice in the good things life has to offer, and most importantly, think about what we are doing, so we can't blame anything we are fully responisble for on others.
Interesting read, keep them coming!
What are we indeed. Even as humanity has made great technological and medical advances, we taken steps in equal measure backwards when it comes to decency. As the years pass us by, we lose even more of our humanity, teaching children the wrong lessons, or not at all. As our mastery of the land around us grew, our mastery of ourselves failed.
Perhaps evolution is our curse? The farther we reach in one direction, the more we lose ground in our quest for whats behind us. And we have blamed it on God. In the past, and even now, many atrocities committed by men against men are justified by something that can be summed up as "God wills it". Yet, in reality, it was all us, like children, refusing to accept responsibility for our own actions, our own hatreds and fears.
Great poem. Very insightful.
