As Her Love goes off to War

She leaves with the wind, 
a kiss in morning air; 
a tragic tale to send 
her away with despair. 

She leaves her heart 
to be shattered even more, 
by a boy torn apart 
and the closing of her door. 

She had loved but with a cost 
of many tears she bore, 
out of fear of loss, 

as her love goes off to war.
