What Was It?
By Saskia Liddick
What was it that I did wrong?
What was it that made you turn?
Because I was slow to adjust,
You turned your back on me?
What was it? What was it?
Is it because she is prettier?
Because she attracted you more?
Was I just the girl on standby,
while you let yourself go with her?
What was it? What was it?
Was I too shy for your taste?
Did I want to talk too much?
Was it my slowness to trust,
that made you easily stray?
What was it? What was it?
Was it the race that did it?
Am I too soft-spoken? Loud?
Was there something about me,
that made you say, "only for now?"
What was it? What was it?
Whatever it was that made you,
cheat, lie, deceive, and pretend.
I'll accept that you aren't alright.
Whatever it was that I did wrong,
You can go burn in hell anyway.
What Was It?A Poem by Saskia LiddickI just found out my boyfriend has been cheating on me. This was what I wrote after I found out.
