When I used to feel.A Poem by SomebrownnerdSomething different.I remember the days of feeling, the warm smiles; the texture of your touch. Again lost in thoughts of my past - so freeing, it happens often enough. The memories of two souls, venturing into the crisp air of a cold night. Stars laced in the sky - so bold; everything felt so right. To the days of the first encounter, that carcass of a class. To a special night in May, light bouncing as we danced. You always knew how I felt; So claimed your whispers, my icy veins would melt. When we walked through the ivory tower, life so fresh, so new. In this time I imagined my mother, sitting in the pews. Her beaming smile a luster; As I utter, the heartfelt words I - do. One day in November, you peered across the dark. I could tell your love was tangled, my emotions became so stark. For on that rainy night, light whipping in the wind, I let my heart loose to fight. You never could explain - why it had to end. Taken to the present, inhaling another breath.
