The deep green sea

The deep green sea

A Poem by someguy772
"

Solitude

"
Standing at the edge over the cliff,
Watching the crashing of the tide,
my lonesome no one to confide,
Looking up at the sky...... surrender,
Put up that blank white flag,
Watch out onto the deep green sea,

God? Universe?
Someone?
Something?
IS there anything else besides the breath in the lungs,
or this panopticon of the mind
It is just I,
Out here in this deep green sea,
on this strange rock called "Earth",
Over the many planets,
Even the grand cosmos,
There is no comprehension,
No way to illustrate,
No way to articulate,
The dread the coldness of solitude,

Even in a room full of friends,
or strangers alike,
The solitude of being misunderstood is a pain almost unbearable,
Not being seen,
Even feeling like your own god has forsaken you,

This is a poem of quiet despair. It’s introspective and deeply human. captures a universal truth:
You can feel utterly alone even while surrounded by people.
I have known that feeling. keep writing, young man, it's good for the soul.

In Vedic texts, consciousness is likened to the ocean, the self to a wave. Even in Genesis, the spirit of God “moved upon the face of the waters.”
