The Emissary

The Emissary

A Poem by athena
"

A mystical journey

"
Then then I melted
Slowly with ghoulish steps
Into the second sleep
Deepening and sinking
Into the darkest depth

I am the wanderer
The solitary sojourner……

And I trod
The ancient paths
Into the mystic caves
Filled with the scents
From orgasmic graves

I am the wanderer
The solitary sojourner……..

The beetles were creeching
The owls
Those wide eyed birds
Were hooting
From ancestral trees

I am the wanderer
The solitary sojourner……

I moved
Into the abysmal depths
Across the seven hills
Across the seven seas
Beyond mortal realm

I am the wanderer
The solitary sojourner…….

I moved
Faintly faintly
Into the twilight spheres
Towards the moonlight lads
Of the dreamy realm

I am the wanderer
The solitary sojourner…….

And I moved
Deep deep and deep
Into cryptic lanes
Watered
By the chilly dews

I am the wanderer
The solitary sojourner…..

The emissary of hope

        2
I plucked and picked
The crescent moon
With my ancestral staff

I  gathered and packed
The twilight stars
Into the ancient hearth

I am the wanderer
The solitary sojourner……

I was crowned
With hallows of the moon
I was clothed
With comets of the stars
I blazed
With laurels  of rays

Poor me!
A wanderer
A solitary sojourner………

                           3
Then I came
And I arrived
To my fatherland
With fireflies
Flying
Into ancestral eyes

I am the wanderer
The solitary sojourner……..

Lo!
Our villagers peeped
My clansmen and women
At my creeping path
The elders of our clan
Waited in hope
For my noble wreaths

I am the wanderer
The solitary sojourner……..

I  will sacrifice
The sweet smelling scents
To my ancient gods
The holocaust!
The incense!
To our dying gods

I am the wanderer
The solitary sojourner………….

The emissary
Of our ancient gods!
