Gilded Torch of Helios

Gilded Torch of Helios

A Poem by Stephen O'Connell

gaze upon the fading light
as sun now sits upon regret
the gilded torch of Helios
weeps still
her tears of violet

draped in sheets of mourning
reclined into this bed of thatch
i toss and turn
my heart does yearn
to chain the words
and wrench them back
