Angel In A Swamp chapter 3 & 4A Story by SoulascatChapter Three The school bell rings and lunch was served, the cafeteria was packed but good thing I was here first to save two seats for Adelia and Vaughn. I just wish that Adelia stops with her silent treatment now it’s really getting annoying than with me and Gunner in class together. I saw Vaughn plus Adelia were having a conversation together while walking over towards me, Adelia pause then turns the other way around leaving Vaughn behind with me. He looked at her still then sat down “Wow I never seen Adelia like this before, have you Eddie?” he said with concern. “I mean, I know why she's being like that, but she can’t keep this up forever you know?” I thought about how Adelia and I had first met, back then when we were freshmen. She was a new student in our class, she had long dark chocolate hair, cognac eyes, plus freckles all over her face too. She was never shy to show what she is made off towards everyone in this school, she was smart and had a funny accent till our teacher told us that she is from England. I was surprised how nobody wants to be her friend, I deiced to walk up towards her when she was all alone outside reading a book called “Bloodless Shadow” by Victoria Blake. Adelia looked up at me, that same look we became friends, Vaughn and I had known her for two, but three years now and it was hard for her to open up to us. Vaughn didn’t like her at the beginning because he thought that she was a teen spy? He watches too much of James bond movies. Soon enough he gains her trust and we all became good friends to each other. Now it comes down to this between me and Adelia fighting again, Vaughn was eating his plate then looked directly at me “What did you do this time Eddie? Did you tell her that she was being too rough on those freshmen boys again? Or is she having her smarty pants talk with Merissa Miller aka you crash again?” he said with a casual tone. I looked at him with an uncertain look “No? She is mad at me because I gave her a suggestion that she didn’t want to hear and now she is being stubborn again Vaughn.” I said. Vaughn looked right at me then shake his head “Ok well how are you going to apologize to her? We both know that this isn’t going to be easy. Not towards her, you need to say sorry to her fast before who knows what will happen to our friendship Eddie.” He said anxiously. Vaughn and I got up and took our trays towards the trash cans then headed outside, it was nice and warm with a little bit of the wind that made the grasses smell fresh again. Vaughn and I were walking around near the trees till Vaughn stopped along and reached out his arm to touched leafs afterward came closer to smelled it. He turned to me “Adelia said that she is going to be in the library to read. I hope you don’t screw this up Eddie.” he said with a calm tone. “Because we are best friends and I don’t want to lose both of you.” I looked at him back thinking he’s right, I never wanted to lose neither of them too, they are my best friends and we stick together, no matter what. I nod at him “Thanks, Vaughn remind me to let you borrow my games tomorrow ok? I'll see you later bye." I said with thrilled, waving at him turning my body back on him then started to run heading towards the library. Chapter Four I came inside the doors then saw Ms. Keys the Liberian woman she was pulling the cards out of their boxes and started to write on them. I came behind her “Ms. Keys?” I asked politely, she turned around and was surprised “Good heavens! Haha, don’t scare me like that Mr. Tito.” She looked over her student aside from her “What can I help you with Mr. Tito?” she looked back at me with a cheerful voice. “Is Adelia here Ms. Keys? I needed to talk to her, it's important and-” She pointed her finger up to silent me then pointed again “Ms. Valvo is behind over there Mr. Tito and my goodness she looks terrible.” I looked over my shoulders. “How can you tell Ms. Keys?” I asked “Her hair due that’s how Mr. Tito plus attitude if you tell me.” she said with certain. “Thank you, Ms. Keys,” I said turning my back waving at her again. I went over behind the shelf’s “Adelia?” I whisper, I continue to find her till I saw her reading a book on the chair next to the window quietly. She looked up and when she did, she rotates her body away from me still giving me the silent treatment plus not looking directly at me still. I decided to approach her to make my best effort to get through her “Adelia I wanted to say I’m sorry. Plus, to make it up to you, I’ll let you take my allowance so you can buy your British backpack you always wanted online." I waiting for her respond. She closed her book slowly after that she looked down at the book “Are you serious Eddie? you really wanted to lose all your money for my pathetic needs?” she turns her body then got up fast with a little fury in her expression. “Why Eddie?” with a loud whisper. “Because I don’t want to lose my best friend that’s why Adelia,” I said with my voice shaking and I’m not sure why? Adelia looks at me and came closer to hug me. “Eddie you idiot, I would never throw away our friendship like that ever.” I felt something wet on my shoulders till I realize she was weeping quietly. I hugged her back tightly “I’m sorry Adelia, I thought that you don’t want to be my friend anymore since you have been ignoring me the whole morning Adelia.” I said sounding pathetic. “Well I guess I have gotten carried away for being mad at you, but I would never think that you would sacrifice your savings for our friendship Eddie,” Adelia said confronting him. When Adelia and I fixed our problem we both headed back to our classrooms. For the whole day I have been working my butt off with homework, bullies, and friendship issues too, but overall I can take it. © 2017 Soulascat |
