Sans-You

Sans-You

A Poem by Johann L. Kohler
"

Clearly, I don't write about this enough. 7 Sep 2007

"

sans-you
it's cold, and lonely
in all the places i used to smile
everywhere we used to embrace

sans-you
it's dark, and empty
in my heart where you used to be
now you're gone and i'm broken

sans-you
it's shattered, and silent
in all the places your laugh echoed
i can't help but retread your steps

sans-you
it's dead, and painful
in the starlight we used to watch together
for hours before we'd say goodnight

sans-you
it's faded, and falling apart
in this reality where i kissed you
where i loved and was loved back

sans-you
it's done, and failing
in this life that i wish i'd end
that once had something worth living.
