Lament to my Beloved

Lament to my Beloved

A Poem by Nova
"

A simple lament, trying to let my words flow again.

"
Darling Moon,
You don't blaze,
You linger ever so softly,
A hush against the dark.
I forget the world's noise
when I look up,
When your voice
finds the air.
You don't need grand words,
Just constellations drawn,
Caught in a calm light,
That asks for nothing
but to stay.

Please ignore my grammar, I am just writing some things out, trying to get back into using my words rather than letting them cluster my brain.

There is such a tender stillness in your words, Nova. I love how the moon lingers softly, not demanding, simply being..a presence that holds space for quiet reflection. The way you let light and calm shape the poem makes it feel like a sanctuary, a gentle reminder that love and attention can exist in the smallest, most unassuming gestures.

Ohhh🌛

I love your artwork choice … it lends a sense of quietude in ethereal-like beauty to the moment, suiting the ambiance of your poem's sensations perfectly. And, your title, a relatable poem in itself.

Free Verse is one of my favorite forms, as it allows one's heart, mind, and soul to speak in unhampered poetic voice, and you do it sooo well!

"Please ignore my grammar, I am just writing some things out, trying to get back into using my words rather than letting them cluster my brain."

Well, this may be a lament to your beloved, M'Dear, but to my mind's-eye there is nothing "simple" about it, and your grammar sings with perfect love of the written word … I can virtually feel your heartbeats pulsing through your ink and pen's every stroke.

Your expressions are direct, honest, open, and real in such ways it's impossible to not be drawn into the softly luring moment with you, to experience the palpable emotion of your invocation that the peaceful spell "Darling Moon" has cast shall endure within the sonorous bliss of your beloved moon's precious voice … ohhh-MY! So beautiful, Nova ⁓ You should never lay your glowing pen to rest, but for brief respites to refill.

"Darling Moon,
You don't blaze,
You linger ever so softly," (wish I'd written it)

Enviously yours … Nova, you're a wondrously gifted poetess,
whom I thank ever-so gratefully for sharing your specialness! ⁓ Richard🌾
