My Friday SpotA Poem by Richard MMy Friday caffeine fix!A familiar place, a friendly face, my get away place to go, that growing aroma my saving grace to ease my mind, to slow. Every Friday about eleven o’clock with caffeine levels dropping, there’s always time for my Friday spot no matter what I’m doing.
People in rush they come and go, the constant din of voices, talking, always laughing and debating menu choices. There I sit my current read to put the world away, senses consumed by coffee steam, in its serenity to stay!
In cafe front a busy street, I watch the passing crowd, different lives different chords, music in background. A place of relax, a place of ease, behind the counter a warming smile, no need for time no need for speed, coffee’s calling to stop awhile!
Cocoa melts like disappearing dreams, drifting, floating, the everyday, and are carried off by rising steam, annoying things that get in the way; they’re all as nothing as I take that sip, a calmness washes over me and lost in my caffeine hit, the world away, just let me be!
It’s the place that much needed stop, in life it’s one sure thing, seeking solace in coffee pot, way better than instant tin. Meet some friends for that coffee fix, in catching up we laugh a lot, amazing how quickly that clock ticks, but another week till that Friday spot.
