You Do YouA Poem by Richard MI am who I am, I do what I do'You do you', that's what you say to me, just to be who I am, myself to set me free. It’s just about me, and what I can do, it's just about me, but at times I need you too. Moment by moment, it's not the time, but the journey long, and this distance mine. To do what feels right in my philosophy, little by little daily, the things that I achieve. We're all different, move a different pace, individual paths on this journey we trace. The way I do and daily routines, these things are the world of me You do you to see a better day be who you are, your individual way. 'If I don't do it, I don't do it, and if you do it, means I still don't do it.' I love my family and my friends, a loving circle that never ends. You do you, ends I cannot see, to be the person I have come to be. 'No-one knows you like you', another thing you say, help isn’t always helpful in my philosophy, it's me, it's today, things of meaning to me. Sometimes I just need space, a knowing for you to find your place. Not to shun, not to deny, but they need to see life from my side. I know it takes longer, routines take time, but understand this simple plea of mine. And what of the future what's comfortable for me, away with experiments of what I could be. And yet, those experiments have lead me here, through days and years. As independently as I choose to do, I do realise sometimes I need their help too. These things you've helped me see, this time, this life, it's all down to me. You Do You, a creed to keep, along this journey that I sneak. It's only about me, in struggles moment, we're all individual in tracks unknown. I am who I am, do what I do because I'm ME. r.m. © 2025 Richard M |
