Abstruse

Abstruse

A Poem by Hallow

There's whispers in my head
They sound like hope and dread.
Echoing me, you, and them
Just a sentence to condemn.

And now, we're in-between.
A silent sigh, a breathless scream.
Betwixt the sun and the grave.
A gasp of hope, a violent save.

Astral projection, it's silly to think
Yet I see my ghost at the brink.
Faeries or demons lurk all about
Catching me on the familiar route.

Running, running, running away
Into a dismal and luminous cave.
Shadows draw knives to my veins
And into a deep hole my soul drains.

Falling away to a liminal place
I can almost see a familiar face.
Without any reason, without care
My soul slips into this evil lair.
