Affliction

Affliction

A Poem by Hallow

Paltry lies and severed ties.
A guillotine forgotten,
A rope left unknotted.
A grindstone squeaks
As sparks reach their peaks.
Black robes discarded;
There's other ways to be guarded.
The moon's on the rise
The air filled of werewolf cries.
Broken, rusty cages
Weak to manic rages.
A doomed skeleton key
Elicits a tortured death plea.
Dawn floods the darkness;
Night still with full harness.
Evil fills the morning town.
Knives atop a hateful crown.
