A Poem by Hallow

Day in and day out
I live by a live wire.
It's sparks in my veins
As I tire and tire.

It's a lightning strike.
It freezes me in place.
A morbid type of energy
That rots peaceful space.

An angry electric current
That I'd rather be without.
Powerless sounds nice;
A darkness free of doubt.

I wonder day in and day out,
If I can put out this raging fire?
Is there peace without the light
Of this coiled, deadly live wire?

The metaphor in this poem is very creative and visual. I resonated with this feeling of tension, which I've lived with as well. I've come to terms with it and now recognize it as a signal that something is off. I either need to make a change, put more effort into a challenge or simply move on. Pause, pray and ponder. Well done.

You have left me wondering. What is the identity of this live wire? I sincerely hope JayG doesn't see this one.

A metaphor for the tension I have to coexist with. Hopefully, this JayG doesn't mind that.
