Detrimental Sentiment

When he says te amo,
I feel that the truth,
I believe the words...
Not to be naïve,even though it's how it seems.

Never did I think,everything would escalate,
Maybe it was destiny but perhaps fate.

 

I tried to convince my mind and heart,

This has no direction, failure from the start...

What happened? I never seem to know,

Not my wisest of decisions, yet I believe so.

The feelings and moments, no regrets...

But the eminent departure makes me upset.

 

The negativity encircles my mind,

I hope time will prove this as divine.

I used to know it was real and it failed,

But with this, and him-thoughts and emotions derailed.

So inconsistent, so afraid...without this, my heart breaks.

 

 

I just need a sign to know if it is real,

If my thoughts could confirm with me what I feel,

So afraid,happy and confused,

Foreign,distant love-a complicated muse.

So little time as it remains,

Enjoying every moment,no complaints...

But the burning question is what happens...when time ends?

Love is a leap of faith. Some are strong enough emotionally to endure it while it lasts and move on to experience other loves. But some, who desire a more lasting, faithful love from someone as like-minded as they are, find it difficult to move on whenever they've found it, yet it wasn't meant to be. I think some of us put up higher walls each time we get hurt, and the list of necessary criteria for a mate also becomes more lengthy and stringent as a result, making it virtually impossible to find someone who fits the bill. But, whenever we do find it, it is RARE ... and that is why it becomes impossible to stop loving them, even when they end up hating you.

If you are strong enough emotionally, enjoy the love while it lasts. At least, if it ends, you will always have the memories. (Although, what good are memories tainted with falsehood caused by the reality of the end of love?)
