A Journey In The Desert

A Journey In The Desert

A Poem by Marie t. Morrison
"

Though the desert looks like there is only vastness, leading to nowhere, with no life and little hope, there is actually life everywhere, filling us with great hope!

"

Emptiness,
feeling as
a vast desert,
nothing behind me
and
nothing in front of me.

Walking to nowhere,
a tiny, succulent, plant
appears at my feet.
Bending down,
I touch the soft leaves.

Responding to my presence,
Dabs of moisture rise forth,
the leaves spreading out,
becoming a beautiful sight.

God is expressing
how the
baptismal waters of life
will be renewed,
no matter where I am.

There is exhilaration,
the spirit and soul
being refreshed
In front of me,
the emptiness
has been filled
with a hunger
for the beginning
of a
new journey.
