Stairway of Life

As the steps increase, my hearts pounds.

The further my life is moving, the further apart I am.

Who am I and where does my steps lead me?

To darkness or light, only I shall see.  

Another step I climb, another look behind.

My past there lies, trying to lure me back.

The memories blind me. 

My mind pushes me away,

from the trenches of what's behind me,

from what's not to be done again.

Another fragile step I take, another risk I must make.

As some steps push me away, I'm not sure if I should continue or stay.

The choices of life shall lead me,to the paths I'm destined to take.

If I am mistaken then I will loose my faith.

The faith in which I believe in.

The faith my heart sings.

The faith that will move me, towards the light of day.

I can see the last step to my journey, that I am destined to take.

As I look back at my stairway,I feel the laughs and cries I've made.

A gush of wind swifts by me, whispering in my ear.

My time is done, my end is near. 

It's time to make my last step,it's time to say goodbye.

There's no turning back, there is nothing left for me. 

The light is moving closer as my quivering leg make its move. 

My miseries and happiness all vanquish.

My past is now gone within me,

As I enter the light, to start a new stairway of life.
