A Kid Again

A Poem by Steven Pottle

Bored as you quickly walk by the school gates
Funny how your past is never that far away
And all you want is the future today
So you drag a stick along the railings
The clatter of forced nature
Falls on deaf ears here
Only your belly trembles when you feel you’ve done something clever
Like making a great sound from nothing
Something achieved through simply being bored and wanting more…
So today could have been worse.

Ah those lines are great. Well penned.

That one line strikes me well. One for the books. Splendid!
