A Poem by Subliminal Silence

i once hated my life
but then you showed me a light
the light is fading, but i will survive
the darkness is home
and like all things left in the dark
i shall be forgotten.
even to me

pushed aside
for the bigger, better, brighter, shinier, flashier new toys
i'm just a rag doll
and i'm okay with that.
it's comfortable
to be worn and used
and once loved so dearly

This is heartwrenching but hopeful in the narrator's appreciation of having once been loved. Makes me want them to love again and not give in so easily to the trappings of darkness that settles after a loss. Great poem - well expressed with a depth of emotion. Thank you.
Light,
Siddartha
