DevonA Poem by AmandaDevon Richard Poulin, my eight year old cousin, went into cardiac arrest two days ago.
Devon, what are you doing?
Entering this place, Very well knowing I can’t see your face, On other’s words I have to trust, Not knowing for sure if you’ll be okay. Remember all those times we had, I do, for sure, but now with this…this Cardiac Arrest thing, How can you still be the same? Are you going to still be my best friend? Ready to go on a trip out that door? Do you have a choice anymore? Pneumonia started this all, On the day before yesterday, Unknowing, we continued our vay-cay, Leaving you to go through this without us. I can’t lose you, kid, this isn’t the end. No, I can’t lose my best friend. © 2012 AmandaAuthor's Note
